The Gitga’at First Nation is looking for community members to serve on four committees as an advisory committee established by Chief & Council.
Committee Members will be appointed by the Band Manager in accordance with Committee Terms of Reference approved by Chief & Council.
For those interested, please submit a letter of interest to Band Manager Teresa Robinson by mail or email teresarobinson@gitgaat.ca or drop off a letter to the front desk by June 15, 2023.
Education Committee
The Gitga’at First Nation is looking for one (1) community member to serve on the existing Education Committee as an advisory committee established by Chief & Council.
The Education Committee comprises six (6) members and is looking for interest to fill (1) seat.
Sports and Recreation Committee
The Gitga’at First Nation is looking for four (4) community members to serve on the Sports and Recreation Committee, an advisory committee established by Chief & Council.
To be eligible to sit on the Sports & Recreation Committee, you should be an active participant in community events and functions, be in good financial standing with the Band, must not have been removed from a board, committee, or other body for breach of confidentiality within the last five years, and know how to demonstrate fairness and integrity.
Finance and Audit Committee
The Gitga’at First Nation is looking for three (3) community members to serve on the Finance and Audit Committee as an advisory committee established by Chief & Council.
The Finance and Audit Committee shall comprise three (3) community members, one Council member, and the Finance Representative.
Housing Committee
The Gitga’at First Nation is looking for four (4) community members to serve on the Housing Committee as an advisory committee established by Chief & Council.
The Housing Committee shall be comprised of six people, including (4) community members, one elder (55+), one youth (ages 18-29), two community members, one Council member, and Housing Manager.
