GFN Chief and Council Announces 2026 Back to School Funding for Off-Reserve Families
GFN Chief and Council is pleased to announce funding support of $300 per registered Gitga'at child attending school from kindergarten to grade 12, starting this September 2026.
Who Can Apply
This program is for off-reserve families only. Kids living in Hartley Bay are already registered through the Hartley Bay School, so their families do not need to submit this form.
To be eligible, applicants must be registered members of the Gitga'at First Nation who do not reside in Hartley Bay.

Fill out the application in full
Upload a copy of a bank-verified direct deposit form or VOID cheque, if your banking information has changed since December 2025
Include your current address and contact information
Missing information will delay processing, so please double-check your submission before sending it in.
Processing and Payment Timeline
Applications are processed in the order they are received. Payments will be issued by direct deposit or cheque, and will start going out in mid-August 2026.
The deadline to submit your application is September 25, 2026, at 4:30 PM.
