We'd like to share an exciting opportunity from Capilano University in North Vancouver, BC. The Indigenous Digital Filmmaking (IDF) program is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 cohort starting in September 2026.
The IDF program is a two-year diploma program that has been training Indigenous filmmakers and storytellers since 1999. It focuses on both documentary and dramatic filmmaking while supporting students in exploring storytelling through Indigenous perspectives and decolonial filmmaking practices.

Students gain hands-on experience in all aspects of film production, including directing, cinematography, audio recording, editing, and storytelling. The program is unique in Canada in that it allows top students to continue into the third and fourth year of the Bachelor of Motion Picture Arts degree at Capilano University.
Graduates have gone on to create nationally recognized films and work within the Canadian film and television industry. The program has strong connections with industry partners including APTN, Telefilm Canada, the National Film Board, and the imagineNATIVE Film Festival.
If you or someone in your community is interested in film, storytelling, or digital media, we encourage you to look into this program. Applications are open now for September 2026.

The Indigenous Digital Filmmaking program call for students for 2026–2027 was really inspiring, especially how it gives emerging storytellers a chance to learn hands-on skills in film, editing, and visual storytelling while sharing their own perspectives. I remember working on a media-related college project where organizing creative ideas alongside technical tasks felt overwhelming, and I had used Engineering Assignment Service UK at that time to help manage my academic workload. It made me realize how important structured support and training opportunities are for building confidence in creative fields like filmmaking.
