Truth and Reconciliation is not just a day—it’s a journey. It’s about remembering the history of Indigenous peoples in Canada, acknowledging the impacts of residential schools, and taking meaningful steps toward healing and understanding. This year, we invite you to join us for a full day of events that celebrate culture, reflection, and community connection.

TRC Day Schedule: September 30, 2025

  • 2:00 PM – TRC Walk & Group Photo - Starts at the Cultural Centre The day begins at the Cultural Centre and group photo followed by a walk walk, symbolizing our shared commitment to reconciliation. Participants will gather for a group photo to commemorate the event and reflect together.

  • 4:00 PM – Gitga’at Cultural Performance Step into the Cultural Center to experience the power and richness of Gitga’at traditions through storytelling, song, and dance. These performances are a great way to connect with our heritage and cultural resilience.

  • 5:00 PM – Community Dinner - Cultural Feast Hall Share a meal with friends, family, and community members. The dinner is an opportunity to build connections, listen, and engage in meaningful conversations about reconciliation.

  • 6:00 PM – Reflections & Speeches- Cultural Feast Hall Hear from Elders, youth, and community leaders as they share their stories, insights, and hopes for the future. This session is a chance to listen, learn, and reflect on how we can all contribute to reconciliation.

  • 7:00 PM – Evening Performance by Gamksimoon (Jeremy Pahl) Hartley Bay Memorial Center (gym) The evening concludes with a moving performance by Gamksimoon, blending music and storytelling to leave a lasting impression and inspire action toward reconciliation.
