December 2025 Membership Gift

The Chief and Council of the Gitga’at First Nation is pleased to announce a one-time gift in the amount of $1,500 per adult ages 18 years and older and

$250 per child 17 years and under.

Eligibility:

Eligible applicants must be registered members in good standing for the past 5 years (as of December 1, 2020) with Gitga’at First Nation.

Application:

The application form must be completed in full, upload status ID, and copy of bank verified direct deposit form or VOID ck. Please ensure your current address and contact information is included in application.

Final Cut off for applications is January 12th, 2026

Processing:

Applications will be processed as they are received, payments will be made by direct deposit or cheque. The payments will be released on the following days: December 10, 2025, December 13, 2025 and December 20, 2025.

Late applications will be processed on the following days: January 9, 2026 and January 23, 2026. Once payments are released, please allow a minimum of five business days for processing.

If you are in arrears with Gitga’at First Nation, there will be a 20% deduction per person. Also, there are different rules for Family Maintenance.

All inquiries please email membership@gitgaat.ca , please do not call the office to inquire on the status of your application as this will slow the process. We will not tolerate harassment of staff.
