Invitation to Submit Expression of Interest


Gitga’at Reconciliation Advisory Committee (RAC) 


The Gitga’at First Nation is opening for more community members to serve on the Reconciliation Advisory Committee as an advisory committee established by Chief & Council.


Committee Members will be appointed by the Band Manager in accordance with the Reconciliation Advisory Committee Terms of Reference approved by Chief & Council.


The RAC is a standing committee and to be eligible to sit on the RAC, you must be in good financial standing with the band, must not have been removed from a board, committee or other body for breach of confidentiality within the last five years, and know to demonstrate fairness and integrity.


The purpose of the RAC is to support the Negotiations Team and Gitga’at Chief & Council throughout Reconciliation Agreement negotiations and provide input and oversight on the development and implementation of a GFN communications plan. Specific duties include: 

  • Assist in development of a communication plan and provide oversight on communication products and community engagement activities; 

  • Review and provide response / approval to negotiation table work plans; 

  • Provide recommendations to Council regarding the achievement of mandates and the progress of negotiations. 


Meetings are held 2 times a month. These meetings will be chaired by Eric Anderson, with support from the Negotiations Team and a communications consultant.
