Helping Youth Succeed: TRICORP's YESS and Blade Runners Programs

TRICORP is helping young people in northwest B.C. find jobs through two programs: Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) and Blade Runners. These programs give youth the skills and experience they need to start their careers.

What is the YESS Program?

YESS is a 12-week program for youth aged 15-30. It starts with six weeks of training online, where participants work on skills like math, reading, and using technology, as well as soft skills like teamwork.

After training, participants begin a six-week paid work placement in a field they’re interested in. A job coach offers one-on-one support throughout the program, helping youth set career goals, create plans, and connect with local employers.

How Does the Blade Runners Program Work?

For youth who face extra challenges finding work, TRICORP runs the Blade Runners program. This program, also for ages 15-30, focuses on closing gaps in job readiness. It includes one week of essential skills training and 2-3 weeks of certification in specific industries based on local needs.

What Makes These Programs Special?

Both TRICORP programs offer great benefits, like daily stipends, help buying work gear, and support getting a driver’s license. TRICORP runs three Blade Runners sessions each year in different communities.

Programs Start in January 2025

These programs help make a big difference for youth in northwest B.C., giving them the skills, experience, and confidence to succeed.
