Household Item Replacement Assistance Program Now Available

Gitga’at First Nation is pleased to share that the Household Item Replacement Assistance Program is now available for eligible Gitga’at Member households in Hartley Bay.
About the Program
Eligible households may receive up to $1,000 in financial assistance to help replace a non-functional major household item. This may include items such as a refrigerator, stove, range, cooktop, dishwasher, washer, dryer, or bed set.
The program is available one time per household and applies to Gitga’at Member households in Hartley Bay only. It is intended to help support households when an essential item is no longer working and needs to be replaced.
How to Apply
Members can apply by submitting a completed Household Item Replacement Assistance application form, along with the required supporting documents.
Applications should include:
Proof of Gitga’at Membership
A quote for the replacement household item
Or a receipt for a replacement household item purchased on or after April 1, 2025
Once an application has been reviewed and approved, the applicant will be contacted about the next steps. Payment arrangements will be based on the details provided in the application, including the quote or receipt submitted.
