A Pathway to the Trades: Youth Training Opportunities in Prince Rupert

Are you between 15 and 30 and curious about a career in the skilled trades?

Two programs, YESS and BladeRunners, are opening their doors to youth ready to explore what a trades career could look like.

The upcoming session focuses on the piping trade, giving participants hands-on exposure and foundational knowledge in a practical, supportive environment. It's designed as a stepping stone directly into the Piping Foundations course beginning in June with both programs running right in Prince Rupert.

The results speak for themselves. Nearly half of Trade Awareness participants go on to pursue formal trades training. That's real career momentum.

A special note: Four seats in the Piping Foundations program are reserved for non-Indigenous youth aged 15–30 who have completed either YESS or BladeRunners making this Trade Awareness session an important first step.

Seats are limited. If you or someone you know could benefit, we encourage you to apply or share this opportunity.

Download the BladeRunners application below, or reach out to learn more.

Who can apply? Youth ages 15–30 interested in skilled trades. Limited seats available for those over 30.

Where? Prince Rupert, BC

When? Piping Foundations begins June 2025
