 COVID-19 UPDATES

The Measures We Are Taking to Ensure the Health & Safety of Our Community

In-person visits

There are currently no limits to in-person visits and gatherings. Feel free to meet up as you wish but maintain all other safety measures including frequent hand washing and sanitizing, physical distancing where possible, as well as staying home if you are sick or showing any symptoms of COVID-19.

Sanitation

Proper sanitation is one of the best ways to reduce germs that can lead to illness. At the individual level, the main things to focus on are frequent hand washing with soap and water as well as hand sanitizing. You also want to make sure you are changing masks frequently and never touching the outside of your mask.

Cleaning maintenance

Although we aren’t sure how long COVID-19 virus particles can live on various surfaces we need to be careful anyway. Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces in homes, businesses, and public buildings is a crucial line of defense. Frequently touched surfaces should be cleaned daily. For more info check the BC Center for Disease Control Website section on disinfecting surfaces.

Health and safety

One of the main ways we are helping members stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic is to ensure that residents who show possible COVID-19 symptoms stay home. If you have any or all the following you must stay home until the contagious period has passed:

Common COVID-19 symptoms to watch out for:

  • Fever

  • Cough

  • Tiredness

  • Loss of taste or smell

Less common symptoms:

  • Sore throat

  • Headache

  • Aches and pains

  • Diarrhea

  • A rash on the skin, or discolouration of fingers or toes

  • Red or irritated eyes

Serious symptoms:

  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

  • Loss of speech or mobility, or confusion

  • Chest pain

If you require more information, please check the BC Centre for Disease Control website if you think you have COVID-19 — whether you show symptoms or not.
